MiyukiAnonym frågeställare1Hello Dr
Excuse my Swedish not so well, so am going to write in English here and hope can get some help.
I had done a breast augmentation about 2 months ago, it was exchange my old silicone implants to new round ”gelehallon” implants.
First the size begin too small but am not going to mention or complain about here, cos more importantly is my bleeding problem after the surgery same night, my right side breast got very puffy and swollen raise higher up a lot.
The next day went back to see my surgeon, he said ”it is very common for exchange implants got bleeding, it will go away in couples of weeks ” –
However after 2 weeks, my breast didn’t get back smaller, even more bruise around the chest.
I feel very nervous and concern, but nurse told i was way too much question and necessary of worried, told me i should wait at least 3 to 6 months before i worried become any more problem, but next day i had bleeding blood outside, went to local hospital, they told me is old blood that inside the breast am bleeding is not a bad things.
After that my breast gone back smaller, however it is still uneven size, my surgeon said probably will take 1 more month to get back normal, however… it doesn’t seem gone back normal very much, and I try to get a second opinion from other surgeon, but doesn’t seem all clinic will take a second opinion for a patient from other clinic.
I hope i can get help here :S Is that normal in Sweden that surgeon will not drain the blood out from bleeding after Op? What happened if my breasts stay uneven after 6 months or after a year? Is that my surgeon responsible to give me a discount for a revision?
So far i can only find one clinic that will give a second opinion for my situation, but i would like to have one more if i must to visit in person, in case i have to fix it again i probably do not want to go back the same clinic :S
Best regards

Sorry to hear that you are having problems after your surgery. First of all it is your surgeon who is responsible for your treatment and it is customary to drain a bleeding. The risk for capsular contraction or infection is otherwise high.
When it comes to revision surgery you have to check the contract you have signed between you and the clinic you went to and see what is included in the fee you paid.
Most serious clinics are willing to give a second opinion of a result. They usually require a copy of the records from the first clinic and photos. The consultation fee is usually higher.
Good luck!
